It was more than 3 years ago that Tim O'Reilly wrote this column, in which he famously proclaimed, “Obscurity is a far greater threat to authors and creative artists than piracy.” With that in mind, I thought I would shine a spotlight on an artist whose music, in my humble opinion, shouldn't be nearly as obscure as it is.

While I was tempted to make this a big show — 40 in Roman Numerals is XL, after all — I didn't think you could get much bigger than the return of Puracane, a band that quickly became one of my favorites after I spotted their debut release on Epitonic about six years ago. They're back with a new touring band and a new CD that you don't want to miss.
