Dave’s Lounge #49: Groove Gravy

Click to listen

This week's show shines a spotlight on Groove Gravy Records, an independent downtempo label based in Los Angeles. Label owner Roy Shakked, who's also the producer behind The Tao of Groove, was nice enough to grant me permission to play some tunes from the label's Chill Pill compilation series. I picked out three artists from those compilations to feature on this show — and let me tell you, it wasn't an easy choice.

This was also the first podcast I recorded on my brand new laptop, and everything seemed to go well. The only thing I miss, really, is having a monitor that swings into portrait mode for when I edit the show together. How does it sound to you?

No show this week: Setting up my new rig

I apologize for the delay on this one. My new laptop arrived over the weekend, and I'm still trying to get all my audio hardware and software set up on it.

The New Laptop

As you can see in the background, I've also got a new audio interface, so if my voice sounds a little different on the next show, you'll know why. Also, if you've emailed me in the last week — especially about the web design — and I haven't gotten back to you yet, sit tight. I do intend to respond to everyone soon.

In the meantime, I've noticed that iTunes sales have jumped a bit since the last show. What songs are people picking up out there?
